Val Parks Wedding Suits

Suit Selection / Mens Suits Selection – The do’s and the do not’s of Suit shopping is hard enough for males around the world without the hassles of all the other wedding arrangements that you are going to have to over come, It doesn’t have to be that way! There are a few simple rules that you can follow that can make your life much easier.

Rule 1 – Ask for help By far the most important rule that one can offer! Regardless of weather you think a store will be able to help you with your request you should always ask. Most suits will fit differently regardless of the size. “There have been many times where I have not been able to help a customer with a pink suit with purple pin stripes, but I have been able to offer the customer an alternative suit” says Val. Don’t think that you can find what you are looking for by yourself, ask!

Rule 2 – Be obliging – When approached by a sales person, be obliging. Sales persons are employed to make your life easier. “The more information that you can give us, (the colours that you like, the colours that you want to match, the size of the wedding group) the more we are able to help! I often know what a customer is looking for before they tell me, from meters away. I know I have them and I know where they are. If you give me an opportunity I will show you, look by yourself and the chances are you won’t find them.”Don’t abruptly enter the store avoiding all contact, thumb through the vast range of suits, about face and walk out with nothing more than a puzzled look in the direction of the sales person. Allow a sales person to make contact, engage in conversation. Allow them to ask questions and give them all the information that you have.

Rule 3 – Shop Alone Don’t misunderstand this rule, shop alone does not mean all by yourself, shop alone means shop with only the people that are necessary. Groomsmen, bridesmaids, parents and parents in law do not fit under this category. The only time that the rest on the family will be required is when you are taking measurements. You can guarantee for every person that comes along, an opinion will be given. It’s your big day! The most successful wedding groups are the couples that are able to make their own choices about what everyone else would be wearing” Don’t rent a minibus and bring everyone you know along to buy your suits! Make the choice alone or with your partner. Do some ground work on what is available, how many suits you are looking for, what people’s sizes are like and take this information with you.

Rule 4 –Go Somewhere Reputable Ask around for some decent suit stores in your area. Always start local, small businesses will be able to offer you the fantastic one on one service that you require. As a rule of thumb, I advise people to stay away from shopping centres. The service is much bellow par and I have had to fix some horrible size and length errors. With a small business it is our reputation that is on the line, we will be there to answer any questions that you have and make sure everything is perfect for the big day. Don’t think that if you pay $1000 for the wedding suits that you will get added value for your money. (good customer service is worth much more than this and will cost you much less)  Head down to one of our Val Parks’ store today or check out our website http://www.valparks.com.au http://www.valparks.co.nz/
